Eric Bellinger Teams Up with Tiwa Savage. The Grammy nominated American singer, songwriter, and producer Eric Bellinger has returned with a brand-new single, the remix of his soulful hit “Understood,” this time featuring Nigerian Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage.
The collaboration, released as part of Bellinger’s 2025 album It All Makes Sense, blends the smooth textures of R&B with the vibrant energy of Afrobeats, creating an emotionally charged anthem about love, understanding, and connection.
A Fusion of R&B and Afrobeats
“Understood (Remix)” captures the best of both worlds, Tiwa Savage’s Afro inspired flair and Bellinger’s signature R&B warmth.
The track explores themes of communication and emotional growth in relationships, carried by lush harmonies and rhythmic percussion.
“I’ve been a fan of Tiwa for years,” Bellinger shared. “I first met her through my longtime friend and producer Harmony Samuels, who worked with her before I even started releasing solo music. I always hoped we would collaborate, and now, over a decade later, it finally happened!”
Their musical chemistry shines throughout the song, offering listeners a sound that feels authentically global yet deeply personal.
From Cape Town to the World
The track serves as the lead single from Eric Bellinger’s latest album, It All Makes Sense, released on September 26, 2025. The project is a continuation of his 2024 release, It Will All Make Sense Later, which featured the original version of Understood.
According to Bellinger, much of the album was recorded in Cape Town, South Africa, alongside a diverse team of African producers, songwriters, and musicians.
He describes the experience as a “faith walk”, a creative journey that challenged him to experiment with African influences while maintaining his signature R&B identity.
“Recording in Africa changed my perspective on music,” he said. “It was a transformative journey that made me more intentional about connecting cultures through sound.”
Fan Power and the “Open Verse” Challenge
Beyond the single, Bellinger has continued to involve his fans in the creative process of his projects. For It All Makes Sense, he shared clips of unreleased songs online and invited fans to vote for the next single.
The winning track, “Vogue,” has since become the centrepiece of an OpenVerseChallenge, where upcoming singers post their own verses on social media. Some of the best submissions are showcased on Bellinger’s official Instagram, with fans voting for their favorites. This move deepened his connection with his audience and highlighted new talent worldwide.
New Chapter: All Wins Entertainment
In addition to his new music, Eric Bellinger has announced the launch of his independent distribution label, All Wins Entertainment. The singer says the label represents a personal milestone and a commitment to rebuilding the traditional values of artist development.
“It’s been a long time coming, so much blood, sweat, and tears to get here,” Bellinger said. “There’s been a void in artist development, and I’m dedicating my time and energy to bringing that back. We’re here to build the kind of foundation that made the music industry great in the first place.”
Africa Tour and Ghana Connection
As part of his promotion for It All Makes Sense, Eric Bellinger is set to embark on a media tour in Nigeria, where he’ll perform and engage fans about his collaboration with Tiwa Savage. He also hinted at plans to visit Ghana before December, hoping to record “another banger” with local artists before the year ends.
“Ghana has always shown me love, and I’d love to connect with creatives there again,” he shared.
With “Understood (Remix),” Eric Bellinger not only bridges continents through music but also strengthens the cultural ties between R&B and Afrobeats.
