Sandra Ankobiah Celebrates Serwaa Amihere’s Call to the Bar

Ghanaian lawyer and media personality Sandra Ankobiah has expressed deep pride and joy in her friend and colleague Serwaa Amihere, who recently graduated from the Ghana School of Law and was officially called to the Bar.

In an interview with 1957 News during the ceremony on October 10, 2025, Sandra described the occasion as both emotional and inspiring, saying it reminded her of her own journey in the legal profession.

“It Brought Back So Many Memories”

Sandra Ankobiah, who was called to the Bar twelve years ago, said watching Serwaa achieve this milestone felt personal because she understood the challenges behind the success.

“Coming back here and seeing all of this just brought back a lot of memories. Twelve years at the Bar this year, so I’m just so proud of her,” Sandra said.

The Ghanaian lawyer and entrepreneur added that the moment reminded her of her early days in the legal field. It was filled with determination and perseverance.

Sandra commended Serwaa Amihere’s resilience, noting that combining a thriving television career with the intensity of law school is no small task.

“I know Serwaa personally, and I’ve seen how hard she’s worked,” she said. “Balancing media work, public expectations, and legal studies is not easy, but she’s done it with grace.”

Serwaa, who is best known for her work as a journalist and news anchor, has earned admiration from fans and colleagues alike for her discipline and ambition.

Her graduation marks a new chapter that bridges Ghana’s media and legal spaces, reinforcing the growing trend of celebrities pursuing professional qualifications.

Advice from One Lawyer to Another

Sharing a word of advice, Sandra encouraged her friend to chart her own unique path in the legal world and remain true to her purpose.

“The only advice I can give her is to find her own path,” Sandra said. “She should be a great advocate in whatever it is she decides to do.”

She emphasised that the law offers multiple avenues, from advocacy to corporate consulting, and urged Serwaa to follow whichever aligns with her passion.

Ghana’s “Celebrity Lawyers”

Sandra Ankobiah herself has long been celebrated as one of Ghana’s most accomplished female lawyers in entertainment and public life. With Serwaa Amihere’s addition, social media users have dubbed the pair, along with lawyer and actress Jackie Appiah’s legal cousin, Sika Osei-Laryea, among Ghana’s “hottest celebrity lawyers.”

Fans have applauded the growing number of women balancing law, media, and business careers, describing them as role models for young Ghanaian girls.

A New Chapter for Serwaa Amihere

The broadcaster’s journey from television screens to the courtroom has drawn widespread admiration across Ghana’s entertainment and legal communities.

Her success story, supported by close friends like Sandra Ankobiah, continues to inspire discussions about the value of education and reinvention in the media industry.

As she transitions into her legal career, Serwaa Amihere has not yet confirmed whether she plans to continue broadcasting or shift full time into law practice.
However, supporters say whichever path she chooses, her intelligence and dedication will ensure she makes an impact.
